One Year & 65 Pounds Ago

This last year has contained a lot of ups and a lot more "downs." Over the course of 365 days I managed to loose 65 pounds. Well, I didn't lose them so much as got rid of them, because I have no inclination to find those pounds again.

It takes a lot of hard work and dedication, a smidgen of research and more hard work. I want to reflect on what has and hasn't worked for me.

What hasn't worked:


  • Processed foods. 
  • Anything that has a shelf life. 
  • Chips, lunch meat, white breads and pastas. 
  • Anything "creamed, creamy, smothered, glazed." 
  • Pop, sugary drinks, crystal light... the list could go on and on and on.
  • Anything that includes soy or soy bi-products in the ingredient list
  • Sitting on my butt. Not moving enough. 
  • Thinking that things will just "work themselves out."

What has worked:


  • Fresh produce
  • Fresh fruit
  • Whole grains
  • Water
  • Clean eating - nothing processed, no GMO's, no GE's or anything that includes "artificial" in the ingredient list
  • Weight Lifting and Cardio


And now I've run into a new issue:

I need to find a job now so I can afford clothing that fits. LOL. Yes, my black spandex work out clothes are beginning to hang off of me. I suppose it's one of the best problems a girl can have? Not to mention that my "new" shirts are looking like circus tents on me as well. :P

Push it till you puke

I finally feel like I'm accomplishing something. Today I finally pushed my body to the limits that I started dry heaving during my leg routine!!!! This.is.awesome. However, not so sure about the impending soreness that may accompany my quads, hams and glutes tomorrow. :P

Mother Nature is screwing with us in the Midwest yet again... It's supposedly snow you see? But the good news is, my muck boots are no longer cutting into my calves!!! Look, there's room around my leg. WooHoo!
 
And yes... I stopped mid-workout to text my bff and let her know what her killer leg routine had done to me. LOL.

I'm going to play catch up here... again I apologize for the lack of posts lately but I'll explain myself in a few.

Okay, now that that is out of the way... Phew. Bet you were worried with the lack of weigh in posts?!?!?!? Well, fear not. I am officially without a laptop now. :P

This means the only time I get with a computer is when I can get a) away from the kids b) not interfere with the hubs sleeping schedule since the desktop is in the master bedroom. :( And until I can raise enough funds to replace the laptop, I'm without. So...... I may start doing a once a month weigh in check and do like above, just list them as they happened. I know, it sucks but the good news is I've added an instagram feed to my blog!!!!

So now, when I update my IG account you will see the newest pics at the top of my blog. OR, if you prefer, you can click the instagram tab above and you can view my entire feed from your computer. How sweet is that. As you can tell, my IG account is kept up to date because it's flat out easier than my blog. Everything is done right from my phone. No emailing myself the pics, uploading to a photo host and then coding the blog posts, etc... I'm sure you all understand not having enough time right? If at any time you see anything in my IG account you want me to dive into further on the blog PLEASE let me know. I'd love to help out in any way possible. :)

Also, squeal my ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY with Weight Watchers is fast approaching, like in 6 days. I'm super excited as my goal is to hit 65 pounds lost by then and if I can keep the sodium content down I just may make it yet. :)

Adjusting my food intake and keeping my lips shut to avoid mindless eating. Day two... so far it's going good. Time will tell if I'm right!

Here I Am

A lot of time has passed since my last posted. Sorry guys. Things in the Midwest have been crazy with the insane amount of snow dropped on us. I missed my last weigh in because it was snowing so heavy. :/

I've really been focusing on me these last few weeks and pretty much pushing everything else aside. I do however keep up with my instagram account daily, just because of the convenience factor. So feel free to check me out on instagram.

This was the last weigh in I made it to before the storm hit... at WW they had me at 215.2

So where I'm at is this; My weight has not been dropping. I'm at a plateau with the scale. We've more or less become frienemies. Knowing the scale junkie in me, it's only going to A) Frustrate me further or B) Drive me to find a way around it. Time will only tell which route my sanity takes. So then I move to motive number two, measurements. Hmmm, seems they are shrinking as much I would have thought. Well crap! On to notable measurement system number 3, the way my clothes fit. Ya'll my 18's are FALLING OFF MY A$$. I cannot move without mooning anyone, but I'm just not ready to squeeze into 16's. That's a whole 'nother rant right there. My shirts are looking like hot air balloons once again, so I'm not sure what the hell is going on. how can my clothing be bagging on me, yet the measurements aren't reflecting it?!?!?! 

If I left it up to just the way my clothes are fitting these days I have to be pleased with my progress. I mean, hello... clothes that are getting too big is a great sign that things are working. But on the other hand how the hell are the other two measurement systems not working? F-R-U-S-T-R-A-T-E-D!!!

So, if you have any advice, I'm all ears.
