Photobucket

Weigh in Day!!!!

12.11 = 218.0
12.24 = 216.4

-1.6 pounds

Total Loss to Date: -61.2 pounds

Gah! I so wish I could get my blogging act back together. :P But, better late than never. What's this I see? I've finally broke the 60 pounds loss mark!!!!!

Today's first-thing-wake-up-naked weight (on the 24th):

Not too shabby for skipping one week's weigh in, preparing for Christmas and going on a baking marathon! I was surrounded by chocolate and peanut butter and pretzels and cookies for FOUR DAYS straight. LOL. It was my own fault for deciding to force my loved ones to eat sweets that I wanted but wasn't about to eat. :D

Speaking of eating, I've been struggling these last few weeks. I will blame our refrigerator. Yes, you heard me correctly. Right before Christmas Eve, our fridge decided it wasn't sure it wanted to work any more. It started with mushy ice cream (that my husband was eating). He complained it wasn't freezing, so we thought it was the freezer. Then we noticed the new jars of milk souring really quickly. :(

So I went out and bought a few fridge/freezer thermometers. Well, by then the freezer said it was safely freezing even though the kids' waffles were soggy and flexible??!?!?! The fridge, yeah it was a balmy 55* in there. No wonder the veggies weren't lasting and the milk soured.

So on Christmas Eve we ventured out to our local outlet store. I mean, why spend a fortune on a brand new fridge, when you can get one deeply discounted at the outlet store, brand new with minor cosmetic damage? So that's what we did. We scored a very expensive fridge for a great price and it has a ding on the right side of the fridge and a tiny mark near the water/ice dispenser. And now we spend the next 12 months paying it off... :P

Photobucket
Why yes, I have a cutie addiction. Why do you ask?

Photobucket
So many fancy functions!!!!

Yes, it's fancy and I LOVE IT!!!! First off our old fridge was a side-by-side that we couldn't open the freezer door all the way due to the location of the wall. So I was always squeezing in the door with my arm to pull stuff out. It was a P.I.T.A. And the "cheese" drawer rail is plastic and broken, so you had to support the drawer if you wanted to get anything out of it. It's seen better days. Now we can get in the fridge no problem, the kids can access the cheese sticks with the ease of pulling a drawer out. And best of all... it keeps everything the perfect temperature!

So Merry Christmas to me. :D And I'll leave you with my favorite pic my hubs snapped of me Christmas Day. LOL... yes, it's very true!

Hi There

Hey guys! Betcha thought I disappeared? Well I did, sort of. Between my last craft show, the kids getting sick and me getting sick (and I still am) I have all but forgotten my blog. :(

I went to the doctor Friday and she said if I wasn't feeling any better by today or tomorrow she call me in a script but otherwise I have to wait it out. Low and behold I woke up with the worst migraine yet. Yuck!

So I'm still trying to recoup, and my body is no where near the shape it needs to sustain physical activity. BOO! So I'll rest some more. I'm even debating on going to weigh in tomorrow because my eating has been less than stellar. (AKA a LOT of comfort foods) The pizza has been yummy and Sonic last night, not so much. I'm regretting some of the choices I've made since Friday.

I move forward though...

As you can see from my log to the left that things weren't all that great at the last two weigh ins. Head up and go forward!

Weigh In Day

Weigh in Day!!!!

11.20 = 222.8
11.27 = 217.8

-5.0 pounds

Total Loss to Date: 59.8 pounds

So I've been slacking with my blogging lately, but I'm still keeping super busy. Last week I had a horrible two pound gain. Lack of sleep, stress, lack of water, call it what you will. This week, even with Thanksgiving thrown in there I made up for it. :D

Today's first-thing-wake-up-naked weight:

GAH!!!! 0.1 pounds away from 60???? Are you kidding me? That's fine, just means I'll pass the mark next week. ;o)

Giving Thanks 5K ~ Race Day

Photobucket
At the finish! {You know you love those socks.}

Liberty Giving Thanks 5K - 11.22.12

Chip Time: 41:53
Age Group Place: 41
Overall Place: N/A

It started off a gorgeous day for a 5K, and quickly the clouds rolled in and we got sprinkled on a smidge. But I could handle that, it's the wind that really kicked my butt. Even with the weather shield on the stroller was a huge parachute.

I did great on my first mile, walked part of the second mile and struggled the third mile. The reason for my struggle? I had to go back up hill and I chased my rabbit and passed her until I reached the middle of the hill and that's when the wind hit and would not let up. C'est la vie.

Mile 1: 12:09

What gives?

So, just a few things. No, I haven't disappeared or fell off the wagon.

1) Halloween night baby girl spews tummy contents all over my parents carpet.
2) I turn up with Bronchitis & an upper respiratory infection as well as fluid in both ears a week after Halloween. Totally my fault for waiting a week to see the doctor as I started getting sick November 1st.
3) Baby boy now has tonsillitis and for two nights straight I had no sleep. We were waking every hour-hour and a half. Oh my God am I drained. This started three days ago.

So of course we had a follow up appointment yesterday am at the same time I weigh in. So for the first time since March 27th I did not weigh in. Crossing my fingers I can catch back up on my sleep and move forward. I'm so over illness around here. :P

My First Half Marathon

Winter Runnerland 2013

Yes I'm crazy. I have never ran a half marathon, but why not? Okay, okay... so this is my first Virtual Race which means I technically don't have to run the 13.1 miles all at once. I'm still in the air as to whether or not I want to run it all at once or break it up over two days.

My bff said she'll run it with me. We'll see how things go I suppose. The "race" will be held from January 1st through January 31st. So I'm pretty sure 13.1 miles is conceivable in one months time. Now, weather in the Midwest in January could hinder this though. As part of the conditions of signing up for the race you agree not to run in crazy extreme weather that could put your health in danger.

Yay! I'm a super crazy Mama now aren't I?

If you're interested in signing up, go >>>> HERE

It's $11 if you want a medal and a chance to win prizes (not based on race times, strictly random drawings) or you can sign up for the free race which doesn't include a medal and the prizes aren't as awesome. :)

Getting to a Smaller Size

This is probably going to be a jumbled mess as I'm typing it while watching the election results. Forgive me, okay? LOL.

Photobucket Photobucket

I tried a new recipe and am in LOVE!!! I love buffalo wings, so I tried combing a couple of recipes to make a crockpot version. Mmmmmm, spicy, tender chicken wrapped up in Boston lettuce? Yes please!

Since Halloween is over and the kids brought home twenty pounds of chocolate I had to work quickly to get it put away. I tried this method for their Easter candy as well, and it works beautifully! In fact, they just ate the last piece of Easter candy a couple of weeks ago.

Photobucket

First I bust out my handy Food Saver vacuum sealer and jar attachment. Then I sorted the candies into different jars, yes I have severe OCD and they have to be with like candy. Then I simply stick a lid on (minus the ring) followed by the vacuum attachment and hit "cannister" on my vacuum sealer and voila! Candy that is oxygen free and will last forever. Okay, so not forever but long enough that it will probably still be around come next Halloween.

As you can see there's the "good stuff" sealed up in jars and to the left are three more containers of candy. Sigh. That is the "crap" I won't eat. It's also stuff I use as rewards from time to time (aka suckers, hard candies, gummies and the like).

So why? Well I have found that if I simply allow the candy to sit in the kitchen I will devour it slowly binge on it all at once. You know the old theory "I can't throw it away so I'll get it out of the house as quickly as possible method which requires me shoving every last piece in my face." Say I'm not the only one? So I starting vacuuming the candy that I normally would eat and placing it out of sight in the dry storage. This seems to be the method that works for me and has kept my hands out of the candy jar.

Photobucket

In other fabulous news I recently was sent to buy a new pair of jeans. I guess the hubs is tired of my jeans coming down without being unbuttoned. LOL. So I decided to grab a smaller size and head off to the dressing room and in my mind I knew they would be too small. I mean really I haven't seen this size in 15+ years? To my surprise they fit... and comfortably. I sat down in the dressing room and proceeded to bawl my eyes out. This was a huge step for me in the right direction. My daughter happened to be with me and she was worried about me, but I looked at her, gave her a kiss on the forehead and told her Mommy was okay. That I simply had tears of joy in my eyes.

And to get back to my election results... (I'm not usually a nerd when it comes to political stuff but there's a lot of issues I'm following this year)...

I did my duty and with two kids in tow all before weigh in. :-)

Weigh in Day!!!!

10.30 = 222.2
11.06 = 220.8

-1.4 pounds

Total Loss to Date: 56.8 pounds

It has been quite the week. I started getting sick last week and it only got worse. I haven't worked out all week, my throat is on fire and every time I cough, which for the record is every 2 seconds, I pee myself (thank you big headed babies). :/

So I'm slowly getting back on the up swing and dropping lozenges like they are tic tacs. I'm hoping to feel like hitting the street again real soon. Until then, water water water water. I will also be writing up a catch up post here soon.
