21 Days | Day 17 *Changes*

I'm still in a bit of a funk...but I'm working on it. Notice anything new on my blog? No? Look to your left. That's right I found a cool search engine widget and added it to the blog. I've tested it and it works, but I haven't fully committed to a search yet. I may do that later or in the morning, but I'm excited to see what it yields.

I'm getting desperate for recipes...seriously. There are tons out there, but the majority of what I'm finding have to have special ingredients, and I'm not to thrilled about that. I did get lucky tonight and found this recipe which I was only missing one ingredient, but no biggie, easy substitution ahead.

21 Days | Day 16

Well....I was feeling confident and great about all the weight loss I've been having lately. For some reason today just didn't go my way. I missed my snacks I ate higher calorie meals and not exactly healthy meals at that. I'm trying to be resourceful and using up some of the food in the house, even if it means that it's not 100% healthy. Sometimes I just have to sacrifice my food for the sake of not having enough money to go around. It makes me sad.

21 Days | Day 15

So, as I said in my earlier post, I'm super stoked that I'm now sitting pretty at 260.0. I'm thiiiisssss close to a 20 pound loss. Who wouldn't be excited? I am a little bummed about the weather here though. It was so gorgeous and warm out, I mean seriously near 80 degrees. Three days later we're dealing with snow/ice and fridgid temps. Ugh, it's enough to make anyone depressed. So I haven't gotten out with the kids for a walk or bike ride and that makes me sad. Soon enough I suppose?

And I digress...I follow this YUMMY blog called My Baking Addiction, and lately I've only been drooling over the recipes because quite frankly a lot of what happens on that blog isn't good for me when I'm trying to drop pounds. But I am totally and seriously, 100% thinking of making these. *DROOL* Somone PLEASE talk me out of it? Okay, thanks.

What a day...I stayed up for nearly 24 hours, got a quick snooze and then the hubby woke me up for some Friday shopping madness! Have I mentioned how much I love extreme couponing??? OH YEAH! And, I'm getting some great deals on whole grain foods to boot.

21 Days | Day 11

Blah...I don't really have any fantastic stories for today. It was another cold, gloomy day and I didn't roll out of bed until 3pm. Yes, my husband left me to sleep in hopes that I will stay up for over 24 hours and crash at a decent time tomorrow night. He's hoping that will be the push I need to get me back on a regular schedule.

21 Days | Day 10

Today was a ho-hum day. Nothing seemed to go my way. It was cold, gloomy and all-around crappy. I didn't even bother taking the kids out of the house, especially considering the sleep issues as of late. Big Boy is cutting teeth hard and is a sleeping nightmare. Big Girl thinks she can skip naps at the tender age of two. So three hours of fighting resulted in her sleeping until 7pm...that made for a FABULOUS night.

Food-wise I decent. Not wonderful, but it was okay. I did have a *moment* and it's the first one in a looooong time. I sat down with a box of wheat thins stix, with Baby Girl, and I didn't measure them out first. Bad, I know. I so ended up eating two servings. Ugh. Here's the damage...and I'm still hungry.

21 Days | Day 9

Went on a fabulous hour and a half walk with my best friend and our three kids. I pushed the stroller filled with my two and boy was that fun. Pushing them up and down hills all over the neighborhood. That wasn't quite the same workout as pulling them around on the bike, but it was a work out none the less.

21 Days | Day 8

You know what kills me??? Riding my bike for the first time in 3? years, with a bike trailer and over 50 pounds of kids tossed in the back...add to that the one throwing a fit when we left the park who was causing the bike to jerk everywhere and KILLING my quads. (Was that the longest run-on sentence ever?) So, yes, it has been nice enough that I got *brave* enough to take them to the park again. Luckily I decided to go throughout the neighborhood before going by the park so I got a decent work out in, especially considering some of the hills we have.

21 Days | Day 7 full week of logging my food for the whole world to see. Now, I'm noticing a trend and as of late, my food hasn't been 100% healthy, but it hasn't been 100% rotten either. It's a mix of both. I would like to start upping the healthy factor though...

Busy, busy, busy...I've been on the move for the last few days. Apparently I'm on an organization mission to clean up the clutter in the house as I straighten out my weight. I guess everyone is benefiting from my new found energy....Forgive me, but I indulged a little this evening and we went out for dinner. But I worked my butt off for it. :)

Boy oh boy did I keep myself busy today! First off I made it to bed at 7:30 am, slept till noon. Then I busted my butt to get an organization project completed. I planned, purchased supplies and built my own 60 jar spice rack and moved all the spices into uniformed containers. I'd be happy to share pics if anyone is interested. It was an awesome day!

21 Days | Day 4

It was another one of those wonder I can't get anywhere. :/

Big Boy was a terror, stupid teething, and I got to bed at 3. Then Baby Girl starts crying and screaming for me at 5:30...fabulous. She comes to bed with me and insists on watching cartoons. Sorry hun, it ain't happening. Then as I dose off she starts snoring and rolls over and puts her head on my head. Ugh. Fastforward slightly to 7:25 and Big Boy is up screaming to be nursed, AGAIN. I bring him to bed too, only to have sissy try and play with him in the dark. Finally we all pass out and at 8:30 I put Big Boy back in his crib. Then 8:50 rolls around and I hear "Mama I poop." Ugh again. I send her off to find Daddy because he *should* be home by now.

I am beat. I feel like I've been on my feet for 5 hours, cooking, cleaning, doing dishes and laundry, feeding the kids, bathing the kids, putting the kids to bed. I swear I HATE the graveyard shift. I'm pretty sure it's safe to say that my hubby working this shift has made me a single mother. I mean really when you're the only one here to handle them while he's sleeping, it gets old pretty quick. And I've been doing it since Baby Boy was 2 weeks old. Uh, yuck.

So I'm going to preface my food log by saying my hours are not normal...seriously, I generally hit the bed around 3 or 4 am...not good when you're trying to loose weight. So, today I didn't get out of bed until noon, courtesy of my hubby who's letting me catch up on my sleep.

21 Days | Day 1

Who hasn't heard this? "It takes 21 days to develop a habit." I've decided based on this mornings weigh in that I need to take a new approach. A new form of accountability. Sure I log my food and my minimal exercise into My Fitness Pal and that has been a great asset, but seriously, no one can see it.

I understand that I need to hold myself accountable, but it is just too easy to say, oops, it'll get better and sweep something under the rug when you know no one will see it.

Weigh Me Monday

After last week's 3 pound loss I thought I was going to be doing just fine. WRONG. I was so dreading getting on the scale this morning. I mean really dreading. I knew the answer wasn't going to be good at all. I've not really exercised per se, but I've been walking a ton (and my knee is killing me to prove it) and we've been doing some rearranging in the house, so a lot of heavy lifting has been involved. I've been sweating even, but I knew that with my relapse in eating out too often would hit me. Ugh and it did.

Shrimp Fra Diavolo

Nom, nom, nom. Okay, so Adam tried one of my Healthy Choice meals, Spicy Shrimp Diavolo. When planning our monthly menu plan he asked me to find a recipe for the Shrimp because he liked it. I took a stab at it and found one on Food Network.
